Tribute to a Traditional Healer: Maclovia Sanchez de Zamora

Albuquerque artist, Nanibah Chacon, wanted to honor someone in the community who she truly admired. So she painted a portrait mural of Maclovia Sanchez de Zamora, an herbalist and healer, on the side of B. Ruppe Drugstore where Maclovia has worked for over 30 years. Her knowledge of herbs and healing continue to help people in the community when western medicine has failed. What many of us consider useless weeds, Maclovia knows as gifts from a higher power with the ability to heal.
